If you are going to work for longer than three months starting up and running your own business, or if you are becoming a part-owner of a company, you must have a residence permit. The Swedish Migration Agency will do a financial assessment of your business plans and if you can show that after the trial period of two years, your company’s finances are in balance and that you can support yourself and any family members.
