Rules governing cross-border waste shipments

The page was last modified:

Import an export rules are the same throughout the EU. If you intend to ship waste from Sweden, you need to find out whether the waste must be reported to the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, and whether there is sufficient information regarding the waste.

Waste shipped without the requisite authorisation for cross-border waste shipments will be considered as the illegal shipment of waste and may result in fines or imprisonment for the person responsible. The same applies to waste for which imports or exports are prohibited.
